Iris Faye Cuthrell Blanton

She was born on July 21, 1938 in New Bern, NC. Iris is survived by her husband of 57 years, Bobby A. Blanton, Sr.; three sons Bobby Blanton, Jr. and wife Patti of Woodbridge, VA, Michael R. Blanton and wife Angie of New Bern and David L. Blanton also of New Bern; three grandsons Brian Blanton, Dylan Blanton and Dustin Blanton; and one granddaughter Lydia Blanton. She also leaves behind her twin brother Donald Cuthrell and wife Carol of New Bern. Iris was preceded in death by her parents Lester and Violet Cuthrell and her big brother, Les Cuthrell.

Iris was a loving and nurturing “Nanma” to her grandchildren and loved every moment she had with them. She had a kind and generous heart and a wonderful sense of humor. She was deeply loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 14th at Tabernacle Baptist Church with the Reverend Leroy Alligood officiating. Burial will follow at New Bern Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Cotten Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 13th from 6-8 pm.
