She was an educator in the Salem New Jersey public schools for 20 years and a member of the First Baptist Church in Salem.
She is survived by her children, Lynn Crawford of New Bern, NC; Willard Allen Whitaker, III of Germantown, TN; James B. Whitaker of Cincinnati, OH; four grandchildren, and one great-grandson, Wesley Whitaker.
