John Mark Ruth, 67, of Havelock, North Carolina passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2023. John was born on April 4, 1956 in Cincinnati, Ohio to John Valley Ruth and Josephine Tierney Ruth.

John served in the USMC for 21 years, worked for the city of New Bern for 11 years, and finished his career at Cherry Point as a Safety Officer. He achieved two BAs and a Master's Degree. He also qualified as a Top Gun instructor. He liked to spend his spare time with his family and grandchildren. John was never at a loss for words and was loved by everyone he met. Not only did he serve his country, he was a great provider, he served the Lord and spread the Gospel every chance he got.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 43 years, Asuncion "Shonie" Ruth, son Edward Michael Ruth, daughter Natalie Ritter and her husband Erik Ritter. Grandchildren, Zachary Ritter, Bailey Ruth, Alexander Ruth and Jaxon Ruth. Brother, James Ruth. Sisters, Julie Ruth, Janice Cannon Rex, Jeanie Ruth Toney and Jackie Tegenkamp.

He is predeceased by his son, John Mark Ruth, Jr.
