John is survived by his wife of 40 years, Rachel Bernice Spruill of New Bern, NC; Two sons, Danny Spruill of Pilot, NC and Gralin Tyler of Concord, NC; Four daughters, Billie Mathes of New Bern, Beth Jordan of New Bern, Teresa Bailey of New Bern, Diana Dohr of Durham, NC; brother, Harvey Spruill of New Bern; sister, Pauline Waters of New Bern; eight grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
A Funeral service will be held Monday, February 13, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Cotten Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior. Officiating will be Rev. Joe Glass.
