Johnson Bryan Hartley, Jr., "Jack," of New Bern, went Home to be with the Lord on October 30, 2016. He passed at home at the age of 75 years. He was the son of the late J.B.H., Sr. and Eula Mae Hartley. Jack, better known as the "Carpet King" was the owner of Hartley's Carpetland, Inc., before retiring in the late 1970's. He had a great love for music and would sing to anyone who would listen. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for many years. He was devoted to the Lord and knew no strangers. Always witnessing and handing out tracts to everyone he came in contact with, he loved to tell the story about "The Touch of the Master's Hand." It was truly his heart's desire to see the lost saved and give their hearts to Jesus.
