

Kathryn (Kay) Wilson passed away after a long hard fought battle with cancer, April 3, 2012 with her loving family at her side. She was born and raised in NJ as was her husband of 48 years. They met in 1960 at work, and were married in June of 1963. They retired and moved to New Bern, NC in 2007.
Kay is survived by her husband, H. Michael, and their 3 sons, Bradford and his wife Beverly of Holly Springs, NC, Gregory and his wife Shannon of New Bern, NC, and Sean of Fishkill, NY. She is also survived by her beloved 4 granddaughters, Dana, Kathryn, Jensen, and Ella and her 2 grandsons, Gregory and William, all of NC; and two brothers, Richard and his wife, Carol of NYC, and Peter and his wife Jodi of Johnson City, TN.
Kay is the past president of the St. Elizabeth Chapter of ECW at Christ Episcopal Church in New Bern. She was also a member of the First Capital Chapter Antique Auto Club in New Bern. She co-chaired their annual Christmas Party for the past 4 years as well as working at their annual car and also the Grand National Show in 2010 in New Bern.
While raising her 3 sons in Morristown, NJ, Kay worked first at Wesray Corp., and later at Wm. E. Simon & Sons as an Administrative Assistant in Morristown for 17 years. She retired in 2001 to help take of her granddaughters in Morris Plains, NJ and also worked at her husband’s business, Wilsons Interiors in Morristown. She was also involved in many volunteer activities in Carolina Colours where she & Mike have lived since 2007.
A Celebration of the life of Kay Wilson will be held at Christ Episcopal Church 320 Pollock St., New Bern at 3:00 PM on Monday, April 9th. A reception will follow at the church. Private burial will be held later at the Christ Church Historic Church Site.
