Kent Murray Cooper, 63, of New Bern, passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at his home. He served in the U.S. Navy during Desert Storm in the Persian Gulf and subsequently retired from naval service. He also served with U.S. Customs Homeland Defense, in defense of our country during 9/11 and the drug war in Central America.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday, January 2, 2017 at Cotten Funeral Home Chapel.
Kent is survived by his wife 36 years, Maxie Bennett Cooper; two daughters, Carisa Bennett and April Wilson; one sister, Judy Neal; and six grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
