Larry Charles Schrader

Larry was born in Chelsea, Michigan to parents, Walter & Ruth Schrader. He graduated from Chelsea High School before entering the United States Navy in 1960. He served his country proudly for twenty three years. During that time he received the Navy Good Conduct Medal with four stars, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, the Meritorious Unit Commandalion Cross of Gallantry Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Presidential Unit Citation with Bronze Star, Combat Action ribbon, Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Joint Service Commander for Superior Performance.

In 1962 he married his best friend Mary Jane Harris. He loved his family and was a wonderful, loving husband, devoted father and awesome grandpa. He brought joy and laughter to all who knew him.

He was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church where he proudly served as Deacon.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Schrader; children: Kevin C. Schrader, Kari Cowan and husband, Robert, Kristopher T. Schrader, Kandis Shark, Kara Schrader and daughter-in-law, Kim Schrader; parents, Walter & Ruth Schrader; grandchildren: Kirt McAden, Keith Schrader, Jason Germann and wife, Ashley, Jonathan Germann, Jordan Schrader, Kelsey Rhodes and husband, Eric, Kodey Shark, Megan Cowan, Hannah Stillwell, Abby Cowan, and Austin Schrader; brother, Michael Schrader and wife, Dale and his mother-in-law, Helen Harris.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Crossroads Baptist Church with Pastor Buford Lewis and Chaplain Kevin Anderson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in New Bern Memorial Cemetery.
