Lenwood Earl Toler Sr.

Lenwood worked as a building inspector for almost 30 years for the City of New Bern. He was a volunteer firefighter for Township 7 for many years. In addition to working with Township 7, Lenwood was a fireman with the City of New Bern. Lenwood began his own business as a building inspector, then he became a building inspector instructor for Lenior Community College. During his time at Lenior Community College, Lenwood was a member of the Board of Education. Although Lenwood had many achievements, his greatest achievement was his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved Lenwood.

Leaving behind to honor and cherish Lenwood's life and memories are his sons, Lynwood Toler Jr. and David Toler (Erin); grandchildren, Noah Toler, Mason Toler, Michael Woolley (Mia), Christian Shelton, and Alexis Toler; great-grandchildren, Walker Woolley, Carter Woolley, and Paisley Shelton; sister, Dot Dawson, Faye Smith, Frances Richardson (Robert), and Peggy Vernelson; and many loving family members and close friends.

He is preceded in death by his brother, David DuVal Toler.

The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon on Friday, February 14, 2025, at Cotten Funeral Home. A celebration of Lenwood's life will begin at 12:00 noon with Rev. Ray Lewis officiating. Following the service, Lenwood will be laid to rest at Greenleaf Memorial Park.
