Obituario de Linda Frances Wells Pickens
EN EL CUIDADO DE

Cotten Funeral Home

Linda Frances Wells Pickens, 72, of New Bern, North Carolina passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2026, with her beloved husband by her side.

Linda was born in Germany on August 3, 1953, to the late Francis “Frank” Hugh Wells and Mary Frances Wells. Her early life featured extensive travel due to her father's career in the CIA. Linda lived in Greece, Saipan, and Tokyo before finally settling in Fairfax County, Virginia, where she met her future husband. She pursued her education in Pennsylvania, studying to become a certified paralegal.

Linda's career as a paralegal was complemented by her active involvement in her community. She was a dedicated member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a kind supporter of the Tamassee DAR School of South Carolina, demonstrating her commitment to civic engagement.

In her personal life, Linda was known for her leadership as the President of the condominium where she lived. It was here that she met David Pickens, her future husband, through a series of parking tickets she issued to him for not adhering to the rules. Their relationship blossomed from this humorous beginning.

Linda loved animals, especially her sweet cocker spaniel friends over the years, and she was a kind supporter of the Humane Society of the U.S. and the ASPCA. She is missed by her beloved Cavalier King Charles Spaniel “Charlie.”

Left to cherish her memory and continue in her legacy are her beloved husband of 20 years, David Pickens; her beloved sister, Karen Morton, and brother-in-law, Matthew Morton, of Mystic, CT; her nieces, Lisa Pereira, Sarah Dion, and Angela Walker; her nephews, Anthony and Joseph Wells; her sister-in-law, Lynette Wells; and her husband David’s family, Jeffrey, Donna, and James Pickens. Linda was predeceased by her parents, Frank H. and Mary Frances Wells and her beloved brother Steven Wells.

Linda will be remembered for her dedication to her career, her community, and her family.
