Lois Ann (Long) Fragnito passed away on Good Friday, April 3, 2026. She was born and raised in Washington, DC and attended St. Dominick's Catholic primary and High School. Lois lived her Catholic faith with quiet strength, gratitude, and a generous heart. She found purpose in prayer, family, and service to others, and tried each day to bring warmth to those she met. Lois married her husband of 65+ years, Vincent (Vince) Fragnito, on October 8, 1960. Together, they raised five children: Alison, Andrea, Anthony, Angela, and Amy.
Lois never met a stranger and was known for her quick wit, comedic nature, and deep love of family and community. She had a way of making people feel welcomed and cared for—an everyday expression of the compassion she drew from her faith. She couldn't pass a baby or toddler without smiling and marveling at what she described as a "true gift from the Almighty." She never took this for granted. She and her husband were committed to supporting children's charities and causes that promote children's health and wellbeing throughout their lives.
Lois was further blessed with nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, each of whom she loved fiercely and prayed for faithfully. Her commitment to St. Paul Catholic Church and the New Bern community endured after she and Vince retired to the area in 1996. Whether through friendship, encouragement, or helping hands offered without fanfare, Lois was a good and faithful person whose life reflected her belief in God and the dignity of her faith.
