

The daughter of a preacher and farmer, Louise was born in Lenoir County on April 30, 1934, to the late Nathan and Pearl Hill. She was a devoted caregiver to many friends and family members through the years, including her parents, her in-laws, sons-in-law, as well as countless others. Louise was a woman of strong faith and loved attending church and serving the Lord. She was a wonderful mother and a faithful and loving wife to her husband of 58 years, Ray Maready, who preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by her sister, Eloise Sanderson; her brothers, Earl Hill, Ralph Hill, Rodolph Hill, and Joseph Hill; and her sons-in-law, L.C. Jarrett, Jr. and Rev. Robert Ormond.
She is survived by her children, Juanita Ormond, Yvonne Knox (Gordon), and Philip Maready (Angela); grandchildren, Lisa Casey (Rodney), Heather Helton (Curtis), Bryan Ormond (Sasha), Meagan Jarrett, Jessica Maready (Mark), Courtney Maready, Tammy Kittrell (Michael), Mikki Mizelle (Billy), and Jason Knox (Crystal); and great grandchildren, Hailey Lyons (Ron), Joshua and Lily Rivera, Austin Casey, Ethan and Kylie Jones, Matthew, Stacy and Elijah Helton, Ellianah Price, Adrian Maready and Mila, Maddox and Mace Ormond, Cassidy and Garrett Brown, Haley, Marley, Kingsley and Finley Knox, Kian Warren and Hayden Mizelle; and her sister, Betty Lou Maready.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Cotten Funeral Home. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. She will then be laid to rest next to her husband at Greenleaf Memorial Park.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff of CCHC and Craven County Hospice for the loving care that was provided to her during her last days.
