Mabel Sedeyn Cox

Mabel Sedeyn Cox, 94, of New Bern, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, September 3, 2018 at Riverpoint Crest Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker who enjoyed gardening, line dancing, traveling and crafting.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, George William Cox. She is survived by her four children, William G. Cox of Knoxville, Tennessee, Barry A. Cox and wife Ann Marie of Aiken, S.C.., Randall Cox and wife Sherrie of Richlands, N.C., and Barbara A. Perry and husband Dave of Manteca, California; one brother, George Sedeyn and wife Alice of Bridgeton, N.J.; seven grandchildren, Laura Cox, Dawn Patterson, Jessica Watkins, Brandon Cox, Melissa Gibson, David Perry, and Justin Cox; as well as twelve great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at Cotten Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to benefit the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Avenue, Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
