Malvin Gene Waters

Malvin Gene Waters, 72, passed away September 25, 2012 at his home in Pollocksville, NC. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pollocksville. He was a graduate of Jones Central High School and studied Agriculture at NC State. After his studies, he became a farmer in Jones County until 1979, when he moved to Fayetteville NC and started a trucking company which thrived for 30 years. After retiring, he moved back home to the town of Pollocksville to be near to his family and friends.

Malvin was preceded in death by his parents Dwight L. and Etha O. Waters of Jones County and his sister Nan Bretz of Fayetteville, NC.

He is survived by his sons Billy L. Waters of Washington NC and Daniel A. Waters of Washington DC, and his grandsons Anthony D. Duran-Waters, Alexander G. Waters, and Nicholas A. Waters. Also surviving Malvin are his siblings Dwight A. Waters of Asheboro NC, Roger W. Waters of Hiddenite NC, and Doris W. Oliver a lifetime resident of Jones County.

A beloved father, grandfather, uncle, brother, friend, and council. A part of us goes with you, but your years of wisdom, guidance, encouragement, and love will carry on through us for generations to come.

Services will be held Saturday, September 29, 2012 from 12 - 1:00 at the First Baptist Church of Pollocksville with Rev. David McAnelly officiating and words from Dr Jack Hinton. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am at the church.
