i remember the day the preis' moved into miller drive. all the boys tried to be the first to make friends with the boy (jimmy). i remember one time jimmy put lighter fluid into their dishwasher and lit it on fire singing his hair and eye brows. he also use to climb down the laundry shut into the hamper below. oh what good times one time i missed the bus and my parents had left to go on an outting. i had no key to get back in so i went to the preis' and mrs preis drove me to school.

Rick and I heard of Marjorie's passing just recently, and we wanted to send our condolences to you and your family. We remember Marjorie so fondly. She was such a fabulous hostess, with a great sense of style and a great sense of humor. She was a natural born leader and for me personally, taught me many things while we resided in Riverside.

My sister Liz and I were on the backyard swings. I'll never forget the day a little blonde haired girl came tumbling down our back hill and told us her name. 
 She walked us back to her house, two houses behind where we lived in Baltimore, Maryland. 
Pretty soon, and for many years after, we were frequent visitors to the Preis house. 
How Miss Margie and Mr. Dave ever put up with our rambunctious games, running up and down the stairs and in and out the kitchen door all day, I'll never know.  
We were so blessed to grow up as friends and neighbors with the Preis family.
Miss Margie had a wealth of patience and good humor for us kids.  She settled our petty squables with such kindness. In winter, Mr Dave would get the fire place going to thaw out our wet, frozen feet after hours in the snow. 
Great memories!  Wonderful people. 
Thanks for all the love and fun times . Keeping your families in our prayers & thoughts.

My deepest sympathy.
Mrs. Margie was our dear neighbor. My sister Pam and I were childhood playmates with Tyker and Jimmy.  So many wonderful memories. I always thought your mom was so pretty, poised and funny.  I was the older (11 or 12) of the neighborhood kids and liked to hang around your Mom.  Whether it was helping her with a cake, (I always got to lick the beaters:) watching her make her famous hotdogs with melted Velveeta cheese or listening to her Carpenters records  it was always such a happy memory. She always made me feel special. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Marjorie was one of the very first people I met when I moved to New Bern in 1988 to purchase Neuse Realty. My father, then owner, encouraged me and my now 
 late husband to hire her straight away, which we did. Her help was immeasureable to our transition to our lovely town, and she will remain in my heart as a trusted colleague.

My family met the Preis family when they originally moved to New  
 Bern.  Jim was the age of my twins and they immediately became close friends.    Marjorie was a beautiful woman with many talents and a cheerful personality.  When we moved back to New Bern in 2001, Marjorie represented us in finding our forever home.   My sincere sympathy to all of the family as you go through another of life's phases.

It breaks my heart that I am unable to travel to New Bern to be with the family of Margie Kay Preis.  She was a cousin of mine, whom l greatly admired and always loved.  She was beautiful, funny and smart and I will miss her very much.  To the family I say, "God's greatest gift to all of us are memories.  Then never change and are always in your heart and mind.

She gave me a chance when no one else would. She was a friend, mentor and advisor for years. When she decided to start selling real estate she came to my house and made me an offer that I turned into a 40 year career. She always had my back and taught me so much about the business. 

I’ll never forget her home in Riverside and how amazing it was at Christmas. That house was a sure labor of love between her and David. 

Her Maryland crab fest were amazing and I was lucky enough to be included in some of those as well! 

You were an amazing, helpful, loving person that adored her family! Her kids and grandkids always had her heart. 

My mother passed from the same terrible disease! God Bless each of you!

Never met her personally; however, we have met her daughter.  Her daughter who is a daughter of God and is loving, caring, and gives her whole heart when she gives it.  By looking at her daughter, you see God in a new way.   But you also see her - and her care towards raising a daughter and son that reflect on God - so she was always wanting to have God's will be done, not hers and she did achieve this.  Her love story with her husband is an awesome story to hear, and we enjoyed all stories shared.   Our prayers are for the family left behind (she went back home to the Father) that He holds them and hugs them on the journey ahead without her until they meet again at Home.    We are sorry for their loss but Heaven's gain.

It was great working with Marjorie during her many years in real estate at Century 21.  She was always a wealth of knowledge and willing to share it with all of us.  She will be missed.

We are better people today because of your strength and love  that you shared with so many.  You showed many of us how to persevere in the face of our adversaries.  I’ll always have the fondest memories of you in all the years I’ve known you and your precious family, times spent with you in your home and in the salon….you are loved and will be missed always💗 Jennifer Wright
