Mary Daniels

Mary Emma went home to be with her Lord and Savior March 12th, 2016. She was born in Craven County June 8th, 1920 and raised in Jasper Community. She graduated from Jasper High School. She was a member of Bethany Christian Church where she was active in C.W.F. and numerous other church activities. Retired after 20 years with Belk in Wilmington and New Bern in the China and Gift Department.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert Stocks and Emma W. Stocks; her husband, Herman Daniels; daughter, Nancy D. Daugherty; son-in-law, Delon E. Fairburn; brother, Charles Stocks; uncle, Harper Wetherington; and foster brother, John Britt of Fayetteville, NC.

She is survived by two daughters, Sarah Fairburn and Mary Catherine Boettcher of New Bern, son-in-law Pat Daugherty, (Connie); grandchildren, Dickie Fairburn, (Pauline); Charlie Daugherty, (Pam); Donna Nelson, (Jeff); Patricia Rose, (Jason); and Sarah Lynn Gaskins, (Dustin). Great Grandchildren, Tiffany Fairburn, Josh Daugherty, Daniel Daugherty, Jeffrey Nelson, Rachel Nelson, Natalie Gaskins, Caroline Rose, Anna Rose and Jonah Rose and many close friends. She loved her crafts and hand work, playing Rook, Canasta and Bingo.

Visitation will be held at Cotton Funeral Home Monday March 14 6:00-8:00 P.M. Service will be held at Bethany Christian Church Tuesday March 15th 11:00 A.M. Clergy will be by Rev. Lee Kirkman. Burial will follow at Wetherington Hardison Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Bethany Christian Church.
