Melissa Emelyn Meyer

Melissa Emelyn (Melly) Meyer passed peacefully from this life to be with God on January 25, 2024, after a brief illness. She was 73 years old. A native of the Philippines, Melissa was born in Baliuag, Philippines, and graduated from Camrinesur National High School. She moved to the United States in 1971, and lived in Dothan, Alabama and Marietta, Georgia. In 1975, she settled in the Eastern North Carolina area, living in Newport, Havelock, and New Bern until her death. She worked at various companies such as Wrangler, Bayliner Marine, US Air, Moen, and Bosch. She was an active member of the Havelock Philippino Association. Melissa attended Annunciation Parish in Havelock, St. Michael Chapel in Cherry Point, and St. Paul Church in New Bern.

Her parents were Marcillano Fernando and Paciencia Almodovar Ramos. She was one of nine children. She is survived by her sons, Steve Meyer and Kenneth Meyer, and one grandson, Matthew Meyer, all of whom live in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and many family members in the Philippines.

Melissa's funeral Mass will be on February 3rd at 1:30 PM at St. Paul Catholic Church in New Bern. Visitation will start at 1:00 PM. Inurnment will be in Tuscaloosa at a later date.
