Born to Francis and Gertrude (Steiner) Jacoby on November 26, 1943, she was raised with one sister Joan Elizabeth and lived in Burlington, New Jersey. She was a wife and mother to Noreen (Lambert) and Steve Wargo. She was the proud grandmother of Molly, Micah and Zachary.
She married her husband Paul in 1976 and moved their family to Arizona where they lived until 2006 when they relocated to eastern, North Carolina where she made many friends, did volunteer work at RCS food pantry as well as CarolinaEast Medical Center and enjoyed time with her family watching her grandchildren grow.
She was a prolific reader and enjoyed anything to do with the Civil War. Gone with the wind having been her favorite book with Harry Potter coming in a close second. She loved to spend time at the ocean and travelling. She was a vital member of many organizations in her life including, PTA, United Methodist Women and Epsilon Sigma Alpha women's sorority. Nina was even a volunteer police officer in Williams, Arizona with her husband Paul for a few years. She was very involved with activities through Garber United Methodist Church and before her illness, regularly attended tai chi classes multiple times a week.
Nina was a very talented and accomplished pastry artist, having spent many years making custom cakes for people for all occasions. She was an amazing cook and caterer. She was a business woman, having owned two flower shops and a country gift store with her husband over the years. In addition, she worked and managed a cable company for a small northern Arizona town and worked for a time as an administrator for a charter school. Her last job before retiring was administrative assistant at Wheatstone. She thrived in all of those positions and enjoyed being busy and getting the job done right.
She was a kind and Godly woman who never met a stranger. She is survived by her husband Paul, her daughter Noreen Lambert, her son Steven Wargo and her grandchildren, Molly & Micah Gastineau and Zachary Wargo.
She is preceded in death by her father Francis, her mother Gertrude her sister Joan and her first husband, Charles Wargo.
Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Garber United Methodist Church
