Ola Price Horne

Ola Holland Price Horne, Resident of Durham, NC formally of New Bern, NC passed away on Sunday February 19, 2023. She was 84. Ola was born July 16, 1938, in Rutherford County to the late Guy J. & Ollie Mae Holland of Forest City, NC.

She was predeceased by her husbands, William F. Price, and Lee W. Horne; her sisters, Louise H. Melton and Inez H. Marshall; stepmother, Selma M. Holland; and her son, William Eric Price.

Ola is survived by her son, Edward Guy Price, his wife, Melissa Taylor Price, of Durham, NC and daughter-in-law, Kimberly Price of Hayes, Va. Ola is also survived by her 3 grandchildren, Margaret Taylor Price of Durham, NC, Erica Elizabeth Price, and William Tyler Price, both of Hayes, Va. She is survived by her stepbrother, Larry Marshall of Frisco, TX and sister-in law, Shelby Jean Bailey of Forest City, NC as well as many Nieces and Nephews.

Ola graduated from Cool Springs High School, Forest City, NC in 1956. After settling in Virginia with her husband Bill and their 2 sons, she attended Business School in 1965. She worked for BASF in Williamsburg, VA for 25 years. After retiring, Ola and her husband, Lee W. Horne moved to New Bern, NC to enjoy their years in retirement together playing golf, traveling, and spending time with their friends. Ola was well respected and loved in the golfing community of Carolina Pines Golf Club in New Bern. She was also a member of the United Methodist Church in Havelock, NC.

There will be a memorial service held Saturday, March 25th at 11:00am in the Chapel of Cotten Funeral Home in New Bern, NC with a small reception following at the United Methodist Church in Havelock, NC.

In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made to the Craven -Pamlico Animal Services in New Bern, NC or to the Boy Scouts of America in her memory.
