Opal Phillips Grant, 88 of New Bern, went to be with the Lord, October 25, 2012 at home.
She attended Bridgeton Pentecostal Holiness Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Grant and two sons, Eugene and Charlie Grant, Jr.
Opal is survived by her three sons, Ernest Grant and wife Sara of New Bern; Kenneth Grant and wife Shirley of Blounts Creek; William Grant and wife Janice of Cayton; six daughters, Faye McKown, Wanda Jones, and Shirley Todd, all of New Bern; Brenda Mixon of Walterboro, SC; Susie Billings and Debbie Warren and husband Edgar, all of New Bern; 31 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren and 33 great-great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, October 29, 2012 at Cotten Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Dixon officiating. Burial will follow at Greenleaf Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm Sunday, October 28, 2012 at Cotten and at other times at her home.
