Patricia White Hudson

Born on February 11, 1940, Pat was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose kindness and gentle spirit touched all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George Carlton Hudson; her parents, Hazel Moore White and Walter Thomas White; and her brothers, Ray White (Janie) and Jack White (Betty).

She is survived by her children, Carla Hudson Marshburn (Mark) of Emerald Isle and Gary Carlton Hudson of New Bern; her cherished grandchildren, Gregory Hudson of New Bern, Patrick Wagner (Melissa) of Newport, Caroline Marshburn of Wilmington, and Sydney Rossi (Anthony) of Alexandria; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Wyatt Wagner and Mila Rossi, who brought her immeasurable joy, along with her furry best friend, Gracie Mae.

Pat is also survived by her beloved “Ya-Ya” sisters, Skeeter Bender and Catherine Winstead, whose love and friendship meant so much to her throughout the years.

Pat dedicated many years of her life to working with children at Oaks Road Elementary School, where she served with patience, compassion, and a genuine love for every child she encountered until her retirement in 2002. Children were her gift. Her sweet nature and warm heart earned her countless friendships and the admiration of all who knew her.

A woman of deep faith, Pat loved and trusted God through every season of her life. Even on her most difficult days, her faith remained steadfast. She dearly loved her church family at Temple Church.

Pat will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her unwavering love for her family, and the joy she brought to others. She was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Cotten Funeral Home, New Bern, NC. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m., with the service to follow at 2:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest following the service at Greenleaf Memorial Park.
