Leaving behind to honor and cherish Encil's memories are his wife of 50 years, Patricia Williams, his beautiful daughter, April Kimball (Aaron), grandson Sean Downey (Lony), brothers, Gattis Williams and Ricky Williams (Brenda), sister, Melrose Carter, many loving nieces and nephews and their children, and close friends. Encil grew up in Tryon Village, where many fine memories were made.
Encil was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ross and Goldie Williams and brothers, Donald Willis Sr. and Fernie E. Williams.
Encil will forever be Pat's best friend and the love of her life. His brothers and sister would say Encil was one of a kind. For those who have known him in his earlier years, you could say he was a lively person. There are always Encil stories that anyone in New Bern could tell you. He loved to have fun and preferred to work for himself where he was the boss, that's why he started his own business A-1 Cleaning. Why A-1? Because it would be 1st in the phone book. As he got older, he mellowed out and was not as feisty as his younger days. He did what his family came to call, Encil drive-by. He would get in his car and cruise New Bern often stopping along the way to chat with whomever he ran into. That was our brother Encil and we will truly miss him.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2750 Amhurst, Blvd., New Bern, NC 28562.
Cotten Funeral Home & Crematory is honored to serve the family and friends of Encil Williams.
