Richard was born July 14, 1936 in Washington DC. He served honorably during the Korean war. He owned his own electrical and mechanical company in Nokesville, VA before retiring to NC. Richard loved Corvettes, boating and his dog Bear. He was very loved as a husband, father and grandfather.
Richard is survived by his wife Joyce, six daughters, Jeannie Kervick, Ruth (Ken) Kuchno, Tracy (Roy) Shaw, Stephanie Ayers, Tracy Spence, Robin Bader, and pre-deceased by his son Daniel (Debra) Ayers. Richard also has eleven grandchildren, Christopher Kervick, Amy Kuchno, Casey & Randi Shaw, Devin & Dakota Ayers, J. D. Bundy, Ashlyn Spence, Aiden & Alex Pomeroy, Cooper Bader and one great granddaughter, Marci Ayers.
Viewing will be on 12/13/12 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm at Cotten Funeral Home in New Bern, NC., with the service to follow at 4:00 pm.
