Richard James Doran

Richard James Doran, 87, passed away peacefully on Oct. 5 surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Marie, of 63 years; his children, Richard Jr., Robert, Kristin Aberle and husband Michael; 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Richard was born in Jersey City, NJ and spent his childhood in Teaneck, NJ, graduating from Teaneck H.S. in 1947. He earned a B.S. degree at St. Bonaventure University. Richard served during the Korean conflict as a USAF F86 fighter pilot. He worked at Bendix Corporation in Teterboro, NJ at the beginning of the Aerospace program, retiring after 33 years as Director of Contracts. He spent his retirement in New Bern, NC enjoying his family, friends and golfing.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 8:30 AM Friday, Oct. 13 at St. Paul Catholic Church, 3005 Country Club Rd., New Bern. He will then be laid to rest in the St. Joseph Cemetery on the grounds of the Church.
