

Richard “Wayne” Eudy, age 78, passed away on May 6, 2025. He was born July 4, 1946, and was the son of Roy and Pauline Eudy. He was married 57 years to the love of his life, Betty Winecoff Eudy. He was a graduate of Odell High School, Wingate College and St. Leo College.
Wayne proudly served 26 years in the Air Force where he was awarded six Meritorious Service Metals and 6 Silver Recruiting Badges. Most of his career was spent in recruiting and included signing the recruiting papers for his son and son-in-law to enter the Air Force.
After retirement, he worked for Lowes Hardware for 17 years in Human Resources. He loved gardening, woodworking, fishing, and spending time with his dogs, Mandy and Morgan. He regularly attended City Grace Church in New Bern and was of the Baptist Faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Roy Lee Jr., Larry Dale and Vickie Lester Eudy.
Surviving, in addition to his beloved wife Betty, are their three children, Amy Kohlin (Jeff), Michael Eudy (Kim), and Jason Eudy (Renee) ; six grandchildren, MacKenzie Hodges(Chris) , Kaila Starling (Thomas) , Justin Eudy (Jessica) , Jonathan Elmore (Kim), Elizabeth Kujawa and Matthew Lucas; seven great grandchildren Carson, Christian, Weston, Carter, Alex, Alexis and Anavey; his sister in law, Kim Davis (Dean) and brother in law Billy Winecoff (Beverly).
A receiving of friends will be held Monday, May 12, 2025 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Cotten Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m., in the chapel of Cotten Funeral Home.
A second receiving of friends will occur on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at Hopewell Baptist Church, 18841 Davidson-Concord Road, Davidson, North Carolina. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery with US Air Force military honors.
