

Robert Gerard Fish passed away on Monday, June 15, 2015. The husband of Carolyn T. Fish, “Bob” was born in Toledo, Ohio on May 18, 1942, reared in Asheville, N.C. and attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He was an avid Tar Heel Fan.
A mathematician and computer scientist, Bob spent most of his working years with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in Rockville, Maryland. He retired in 1997 settling in New Bern, N.C. where he enjoyed golf, volunteer activities and his new interest, preparing taxes for so many wonderful people he came to know. Bob and Carolyn are members of Centenary United Methodist Church where Bob served as an usher and particularly enjoyed the “Hymn Sing.”
Bob is survived by his wife of 48 years Carolyn Teachey Fish; his son Robert Gerard Fish III, wife Ivonne and grandchildren Michelle and Madison of Atlanta, GA; brothers James E. Fish of Gladwyne, PA and George D. Fish of Fredericksburg, VA as well as a host of nieces, nephews and their children all of whom he loved very much.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Centenary United Methodist Church.
