Bobby grew up in New Bern and attended New Bern High School where he had a successful football career, wearing number "24". He made his home in Pamlico County where he enjoyed fishing and spending time on the river for many years before retiring to New Bern. He also enjoyed pulling for the Wolfpack of N.C. State, playing golf, and woodworking. He liked good music and was especially fond of the Eagles. Above all, he valued quality time with his friends and family.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Sandra Faulkner; daughters, Hunter Vega (Pablo) and Cassie Boyce (Jim); brother, Terry Faulkner (Dennis); grandchildren, Evelyn Vega, Julia Vega, Lyla Boyce, and Ava Boyce; and nephew, Chris Faulkner (Anita).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Jimmy V Foundation for cancer research.
A private service of remembrance will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Cotten Funeral Home & Crematory.
