Robert Eugene Strickland

It is with deep and heavy sadness that we announce the death of Robert “Bob” Strickland, who passed away on June 27, 2015. He left this crazy world way too soon and unexpectedly. Bob lived his life to the fullest; he was the life of the party, always had a story to tell, and he never met a stranger. Bob was married to his high school sweetheart, Mary Bland Strickland, for over 46 years. Bob was born and raised in Indiana and moved to New Bern, North Carolina with Mary eight years ago. He retired from Duke Energy in 2006 and was an active member of the ELKS (Past Exalted Ruler) and Moose Lodge. He was an avid golfer who loved riding around the neighborhood in his golf card just as much as he did hitting that darn ball around.

He is survived by his wife Mary, daughters Jeannette “Oaky” Strickland, Milissa “Missy” Strickland Fowler, Son-in-law, James “Jamie” Fowler, his grandson Anthony Alacca, his “Number 2 Sister” LaDonna Strickland Bonn and “Number 3 Sister” Desiree Strickland Probus. Bob will forever be loved by those of us that he left behind.

Funeral services will be held at the New Bern Elks Lodge, 1175 Pinetree Dr. starting at 6:00pm, Tuesday, June 30, 2015.. Visitation will begin at 4:00pm prior to the funeral.
