Ronald Ray Smith

Ron is survived by his loving wife of almost 30 years, Pattie Smith; children, Randy Smith (Jewel), Michael Smith (Stephanie), and Debra Umphlett (DeWayne); step-children, Helen Lewis (Michael) and Georgette Smith (Scott); grandchildren, Brandon Smith (Britney), Keaton Smith (Heather), and Brittany Toler (Brent); step-grandchildren, Michaela Lewis, Emma Yaeger, Ava Yaeger, and Lilly Yaeger; great-grandchildren, Ella and Chase Toler; sister, Lois Fornes; and many loving family members and close friends.

He is preceded in death by his brothers, Donald Smith (his twin) and Bobby Smith, and sisters, Geraldine Carrow, Elitha Jenkins, and Betty Barr.

The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, from 12:00-1:00 pm at Cotten Funeral Home. A celebration of Ron's life will begin at 1:00 pm with Rev. Jason Jones officiating the service. Ron will be laid to rest at Greenleaf Memorial Park.

The family would like to thank his caregivers from Gentiva Hospice, Kacynthia and Lisa. Over the past several years, Ron had other caregivers that the family would like to acknowledge: Blenda Hargett, Pat McCoy, Lou Knapp, and Lisa Pressley. The most important caregivers were his son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Jewel Smith, who made sure Dad was taken care of every night.

Although flowers are welcome, donations to your favorite charity in Ron's honor are greatly appreciated.
