Roy Lee Whitford

He was a member of St. Mary’s FWB Church for over 50 years and also a deacon. He was also a member of the Doric Lodge No. 568, the Scottish Rite, the Jesters, and past president of the New Bern Shrine Club.

He is survived by his wife, Mary M. Whitford; sons Michael Ray Whitford and wife Janice of Zebulon and Terry Lee Whitford and wife Elizabeth of Greenville; step-son Danny Miller and wife Debbie of New Bern; step-daughter Denise Simpson of New Bern; brothers Bobby Whiford of Ernul and Lynwood Whitford; sisters Eva Whitford of Beaufort and Joyce Stilley of Panama City, FL; eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 14, 2016 at Cotten Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at Cotten Funeral Home. Burial will follow the funeral service at Greenleaf Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Mary’s FWB Church.
