Sandra Christine Becker

Sandra Christine (Hejmanowski) Becker, age 80 of New Bern, NC passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at CarolinaEast Medical. She was born on February 27, 1945 in Buffalo, NY, the daughter of Conrad and Eleanor (Pietruszewski) Hejmanowski.

She grew up in the Buffalo, NY. She earned a Master’s Degree from the University of Buffalo, NY. She was united in marriage to the Rev. Thomas Becker on May 3, 1980 in Buffalo, NY. She supported her husband's ministry as he served congregations in New York, North Carolina, Virginia, and Maryland. She was always concerned for the welfare of others. She worked in various community organizations. A nephew recently wrote: "She was a woman of immense strength and side-splitting humor, and someone who always stood up for those in hard times -- running a battered women's shelter in Virginia Beach (Portsmouth, VA) for many years."

Preceded in death by parents: Conrad and Eleanor Hejmanowski; brothers: Conrad Jr Hejmanowski; Robert Hejmanowski, and Gregg Hejmanowski; sister-in-law: Geraldine Hejmanowski; niece: Susan Hejmanowski; infant son: Timothy Stoyle; son: Jeffrey Becker.

In addition to her husband Thomas Becker, Sandi is survived by granddaughter: Mekaila Buesking; sister-in-law: Maryann Hejmanowski; brothers-in-law Mark (Joann) Becker and David (Tracie) Becker; niece: Linda Hejmanowski; nephews: Christopher (Tracy) Hejmanowski, David (Ashley)Hejmanowski, Andrew (Melissa) Becker, and Christopher Becker; many great nieces and nephews.
