Stephen Wayne Lewis

Stephen Wayne Lewis Sr., 75, of New Bern, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2024. A proud Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War, Stephen dedicated his life to serving his country and his community. He retired from Weyerhaeuser, where he was known for his strong work ethic and creativity.

Stephen was a selfless man who consistently put the needs of others before his own. His love for his family was evident in all that he did, and he found great joy in gardening, nurturing both plants and relationships with equal care.

He is survived by his loving sons, Stephen Wayne Lewis Jr. (Tatiana), Walter Scott Lewis, and Samuel Douglas Lewis (Jessica Eller); his daughter, Michelle Ann Davidson (Chris); his brother, Douglas Lewis; his sister, Barbara Husk; and his cherished grandchildren, Carly, Alex, Xavier, Sadie, Stephen, Sophia, Spencer, Lianna, Lirya, and Calvin.

A graveside service will be held at the Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have supported them during this time.

Arrangements are being handled by Cotten Funeral Home & Crematory. Stephen's legacy of love and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
