My deepest condolences to the Perry family.  I worked with Mr. Perry at NBHS.  At the time, he was coaching football and as I remember, he was transitioning to counselor.  He always had the best in mind for any students with whom he came into contact.

I was a new home economics teacher (my last name was O'Quinn at the time) and I remember him presenting me with multiple puzzle pieces to solve in repairing ripped jerseys.  Sometimes the jerseys were ripped so bad, it was difficult to tell where the arms or neck was supposed to be, but because he asked so nicely, my colleague and I always made the repairs. 

He cared so much about the students and really wanted the best for each and every one in his role as a counselor.  We had many conversations about how to best help students that he referred to my classes. I know that he extended that same caring to his family and friends.

My continued prayers for the family that you will have the comfort and peace known through our God, that you will feel His presence around you, and that as you remember special times with Mr. Perry, you will find that those memories bring a smile to your face.

I've had many conversations discussing and sharing the memories of Coach Perry who accepted the left hand pitcher in softball.  He always knew how to handle the bunch of females even when we got "catty".  It was being around him where I grew fond of the different country artists.  His kind warm spirit (even when he was mad) will be memories I will cherish.  To Sharon (my classmate) and family, my prayer is that you be strengthen as you allow God to help you through  it all.  God Bless..... 

My sympathy and prayers to the family from one of his class mates at Charles L Coon High School in Wilson.  I have only fond memories of our times together there.  Rest in peace.  Judy

I played football at New Bern Senior High School under Coach Perry in the 80's. He was a tuff, but fare coach and leader. Coach Perry also was a father figure to me, as he would counsel me in many other areas besides on the gridiron. I will always remember Coach Perry for the lessons he taught me that influenced my life as a person, and as a coach.  Rest in Peace Coach!

Uncled Ted and Aunte Faye were always willing to support us and to visit wherever we were, whether it was Florida or Ohio.  I will miss him.

I wish to express my heart felt condolences to the family. May you find peace in knowing he suffers no more. He will be missed but you keep his love with you until you get to see him again. With love and respect, Aaron.

Please know that you are in Toni’s and my prayers at this sad time.  May the many memories you had with Ted provide solace and may you find comfort in our Lord.

I thoroughly enjoyed my years at NBHS working with Ted and getting to know the three of you through him (and you in the classroom as well, Sharon!)

From the football field to the guidance office, Ted  demonstrated his caring for the athletes and students in his charge.  He  consistently placed their interest and well- being above all else.  He should be commended for what turned out to be a successful ( and in my personal belief, underrated) and  long- lived coaching career.  I always enjoyed talking to Ted about his many and varied interests ranging from college football and golf to antiques and auctions.

Finally, I want you to know that I will always think of Ted as being 39 years of age!!

Ted was a wonderful person.I graduated with him at Charles L Coon in Wilson....He was well like at school and was a great friend to so many..God bless his family and know you are in my thoughts and Prayers!!
