He was a faithful and active member and staff member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of Vietnam, retired Command Master Chief and Naval Corpsman. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and loved the Lord.
Survivors include his wife Barbara M. Garrett, sons Tommy Garrett of New Bern and Casey Garrett {Lisa} of Greenville, daughter Susan Garrett Waddell {Luke} of New Bern, sister Margaret Baker of Washington State. Grandchildren Brittany Arroyo {Bernard}, Luke Ashton Waddell, Justin Garrett, Jessica Hall, Tyler Waddell {Emily}. Great grandchildren Mason, Landon, Ashlyn, Albany, Jayden, Colton and Gabriel.
Funeral services are scheduled for 12 noon Saturday, August 4th, 2018 at Calvary Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 11 – 12 at Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in New Bern Memorial Cemetery.
