
Mr. Thomas MacIndoe passed away on March 29, 2026 at the age of 89. Born in New York, Mr. MacIndoe was the son of the late Isabelle (MacDougall) and Thomas MacIndoe. He was raised and educated in Astoria, New York. As a youngster, Tom enjoyed spending summers with his MacIndoe cousins in Oxford, Maryland, picking tomatoes and diving for change off the ferry dock. He also enjoyed shark fishing in Montauk, NY. Tom resided in Sloatsburg, New York for eight years and Green Brook, New Jersey for 20 years, before moving to New Bern, North Carolina in 2004.
Tom served in the United States Navy during the Korean War on an LSD, deheading mines in the Sea of Japan. He spent most of his working life as a sales manager in the fluid milk industry, including Borden's Milk Co., New York; Tip Top Dairy, New York, and Tuscan Dairy in New Jersey. A dedicated community member, Tom was active in and served as President of the Rotary Club of Tuxedo, New York. In New Bern, he was active in the Men's Golf Association at the Emerald Golf Course and the Pinehurst Place Homeowners Association. He also volunteered at the RCS Soup Kitchen.
Tom is survived by his loving wife, Rita M. (McLaughlin) MacIndoe, to whom he was married for 54 years; his children, Thomas, Denise, and Robert; his beloved grandchildren, Michael (Sweta), Terese (Anthony), and Tommy; his loved great-grandson, Anthony and great-granddaughter, Victoria. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Patricia M. Riehman of Atlanta, Georgia, Susie McLaughlin of Annapolis, MD; his brother-in-law Robert Ciotta of Princeton, NJ; his daughter-in-law, Donna MacIndoe of City Island, New York and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald.
Tom will be remembered with respect for a life marked by steady service, commitment to family, and devotion to the communities he called home.
