Tom is my first cousin on my mom's side. I remember we took a vacation to Florida when he lived there. I was around 15 and wasn't old enough to gamble and we all went to the dog track. I gave Tom money and he put in a bet for me. I won!! I'm going to miss him and his goofy personality. Love you. 

Tom was my cousin but I have always considered him more like a older brother, who enjoyed teasing me like big brothers do. 
I would often called or text Tom when I seen or heard something funny and vice versa, we enjoyed sharing a good laugh together. 

My heart is so broken and it will take my cherish memories to mend it. 

Tom you were a wonderful man. I will miss you dearly forever snd ever.. 

One more thing. Thank you Jill for loving and taking good care of Tom over the years. I love you. 



I was one of the privileged people to be able to work with Tom.  We had many conversations talking about lots of different things.  Tom was a sweet caring, unforgettable person,  you truly were one of a kind and will never be forgotten.

I worked for the city of New Bern and Tommy was a coworker. He was always upbeat, very helpful and an all around nice guy.  He will be truly missed.

Tommy "G-BO" Gustafson was my best friend for a long time. I first met G-BO the day he got to Florida in his Toyota van, windsurfer on the roof.  We became close and hung out daily. Mainly chasing chicks on Ft. Myers Bch, drinking beers at The Reef, and eating frozen burritos from Winn-Dixie.  He spent many holidays at my house and we always rung in the new year together.  We've visited each other since leaving Florida,  but not as much as we should have. I always thought of him often and wished I would have picked up the phone just as often.  He will be forever missed in my heart. I love you man! T-Pilo

Tom was our neighbor for many years but not just any neighbor.. a dear friend. We loved having contests to see who could out-do the other when it came to planting flowers and yard work! Christmas was always spent playing cards and laughing around the table! Christmas decorations were the ultimate argument! Colored Snoopy lights( him) or white traditional (us) all in good fun! Tommy loved his dogs Skip and Scoobie  so much but when Jill came along, he was smitten! I wanted him to find that one true love and he did! Thank you Tom for all of the fun times! And please give Skippy dog a big hug for us as I’m sure you are together again! ♥️ Rest In Peace Sweet Man

Tom was my good friend when we worked together.   He enjoyed a good harmless prank, even when aimed at him.  He pretended to be tough but he was an old softy and really cared about his friends.  Had not seen him for a while, but still gonna miss him.

Tom Gustafson was such a nice man and I am so glad that I met him. I will be praying for his family and know that you all have wonderful memories of  him to carry in your hearts forever!! God bless you all!!

Me and Tom actually got to experience a police chase that took part in downtown one day during training where the car was still riding on a rim! I’ve got so many.. when you work with a man as great as he was you can’t keep up with all the good times because it was a pleasure working with him everyday! He actually trained me so for a good while we rode together and I was always excited when I heard I was going to be with him! I’ve never had so many laughs in my life and they will never be forgotten and neither will you Tom. R.I.P and keep and eye out over all of us!

Tom was a dear neighbor to me when I first moved to New Bern.  So sorry for your loss...

So sorry hear this. My brother and i really enjoyed playing golf with Tommy a few times, he was such a nice guy and really enjoyed playing golf whenever he got a chance. "Hit um straight up in heaven Tommy where the fairways roll out nicely and greens are always perfect waiting on the perfect shot" God Bless, thoughts and prayers for his wife and all the family.

Jill and family,  Tom was a good hearted man. I worked with him for over 15 years  He loved his wife, family and friends (golf buddies). 
I saw him at Pete and Nicki's a few months ago and got a big hug and he looked really good.
