Virginia Delaney Barber

Virginia Delaney Barber, age 89, of New Bern, North Carolina passed away on Tuesday, August 29, 2023. Originally from Ashland, Kentucky, Virginia and Charles, were longtime members of First Christian Church in Ashland before moving to New Bern where they became members of Broad Street Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Charles Barber; and son, C.B. Barber.

Virginia is survived by her daughters, Tina Barber Bowman (David) of Midlothian, VA and Debbie Barber Hostetter (Michael) of Wendell, NC; stepdaughter, Darlene Riley (Clarence) of Ashland, KY; grandchildren, Ben Bowman (Melissa), Nathan Bowman, Joshua Hostetter (Emily), Luke Hostetter, and Annie Hostetter Horrigan (Andy); step granddaughter, Kim Ratliff Sanson; and great grandchildren, Wyatt Bowman, Hudson Bowman, Jack Horrigan, and Nora Horrigan.

The family will hold a private memorial for Virginia at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to First Christian Church in Ashland, Kentucky, Broad Street Christian Church in New Bern, NC, Woodlake United Methodist Church in Midlothian, VA or Premier Nursing and Rehabilitation Center (activity department) in Jacksonville, NC.
