He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Betty Barnett; two sons, Skip Barnett, Jr. (Shelly) and Eric Barnett (Lauren); three grandchildren, Whitney Larmore (Ryan), Ryan Barnett, and Aaron Barnett; and two great grandchildren, Piper and Gunner.
Friends are invited to join the family for a graveside service at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to benefit the Craven Pamlico Animal Shelter. To do so, checks may be made payable to the Craven County Health Foundation (write "pets" in the memo line) and mail to 1639 Old Airport Road, New Bern, NC 28562.
