He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Mickey Downing, two daughters, Heather Downing Wykle and husband Keith; Jaime Downing Elder and husband Shane; one sister, Annette Downing Stone; four grandchildren, Blake Roberts, Brandon Tickle, and Chase and Devan Elder.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
