Reverend William Henry Wetherington, 88, of New Bern, NC died Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at home. He retired from the US Navy from Cherry Point and was a minister of forty five years. Mr. Wetherington was so loved by everyone who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Fay Patterson of forty one years, in 1991.
He is survived by his wife Mary Wetherington, daughters, Tammy Wetherington of Jasper and Valerie Cluck of Florida, a step daughter, Linda Owens of Florida, a son, Buddy Wetherington of Jasper, a step son, David Owens of New Bern, brother, Kirby Wetherington of Jasper, four grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
He was under the care of Community Home Care and Hospice of New Bern NC.
Funeral service will be held at 2 pm Friday, July 8, 2016 at Cotten Funeral Home Chapel. The burial will follow at Greenleaf Memorial Park with Navy Honors. Visitation will be Thursday, 6-8 pm at Cotten Funeral Home.
