Although I did not know your lovely daughter, as a parent & grandparent, I know what you are going through and I feel for you. Hope Hospice is a great place if you need to talk. It is a not for profit organization so all services are free. They really helped us when we lost our 4 year old grandson. Beverly

I remember her from our Patton Elementary days - she would stop by the gym every morning to give me my daily hug! And the way she cared for all animals. Such a sweetheart who will be dearly missed.

Even though we only met Amy once, we could see her sweet spirit shining through. Y'all moved south and we moved east and we lost contact and I regret that we didn't see each other more when we were closer. My heart breaks for you, and the shattered dreams this represents. May God send His Holy Spirit to comfort you during this difficult transition. 

Amy was one of my best friends. We had met through choir and didn’t become close till the end of my junior year or the beginning of my senior year. We shared many laughs and many deep conversations about life. The first time we properly hung out was in September of 2018. We had gone to the movies to see the movie “It,” but we couldn’t see it because at the time I was 17 and apparently you have to be 21 to buy 2 Rated R movie tickets so we ended up just shopping and going to eat. The last time we hung out was late Sunday night (5/19) till Tuesday (5/21) morning when I left to go home. On Monday we cooked breakfast together at like 1 in the afternoon and then we took Rocky and her brother Chris’ dog Lucy to the river for a few hours. Then we spent the night in her room with the dogs watching criminal minds. I will forever cherish the memories I have made with Amy and I will always have a little place in my heart for her. I love you forever Schamy, Rest Easy💜

The Addington Family 

Amy was my best friend all throughout my senior year. I have never met someone so caring, loving, funny and outgoing as her. I remember when I first met her I was so shy and didn’t really have a solid connection with anyone in my choir section. But when I started talking to Amy she immediately made me feel comfortable and the more we talked, laughed, and shared our thoughts with each other I felt more closer to her and  she started to feel more like a sister than a best friend. My last memory of her is when we were driving back to my house after being at iHop in celebration of the last choir concert of 2019. On the drive home, Amy and I were talking about her future and catching up on the good times. I remember saying that I was blessed to meet her and that I was so proud of her because of how far she had come and how she was doing and that I would always love her and support her in whatever she did and she said the same to me. After that heartfelt moment, I wished her well and we parted ways. Amy has always been with me and I feel even now she is still here and will live on in the hearts of everyone. 

I am deeply saddened and heartsick to hear of Amy’s passing. I  well remember her sweet spirit, intelligence, and maturity  from the time we were privileged to spend with her at Oak Run. It is my prayer that you will find peace and joy in remembering all the good times with your precious girl. 

I only got to talk to Amy a few times when she was in shows, but she was always such a pleasure and fun person to be around. I know that her spirit will be with all of us in theatre, choir, and our graduating class. We love you Amy, and never forget-

Amy was an 8th grade student of mine.  She is one of those students that teachers do not forget.  Amy was so thoughtful and kind.  It seemed she was years ahead of her peers in terms of empathy and the ability to connect.   I can remember her beautiful smile and bright eyes perfectly. Dear Jeanie, Bill, Chris and Grant,
There are no words.  I am so so so very sad for you all.  The worlds light dimmed a little on Thursday  now that  Amy is not  in it.  BUT Heaven just got better.  I ask that God hold you all tight and help carry you through this dark and difficult time.  May all the pictures and wonderful times spent together help to comfort you as you learn to walk this road of life without her physically by your side.  Remember she will always be with you, in the sun that rises and the wind that dances across your face, the opening of a new flower and the rains that wash over the earth.  I pray that you may find a way to live for her legacy and carry it on, until that one day when you are all reunited together again in Gods great paradise. I manage the New Braunfels High School Choir Instagram (@nbhschoir), and I wrote this memorial for Amy:

“For today’s senior countdown, I’d like to take a moment to honor Amy Amanda Stein.

Born May 10, 2001 in Austin, Texas, Amy became a member of the Unicorn Choir her 8th grade year when she began attending OakRun Middle School. In her years with the Unicorn Choir, Amy was a member of Varsity choirs, participated in TMEA Region Choirs, UIL Solo and Ensemble, and more. Not only was she a dedicated musician, but she was an asset to NBHS Theatre as well, having served as stage crew and acted in UIL One Act Play competitions and fall productions. Amy exemplified pure talent, hard work, kindness, and overall greatness. Amy passed away on May 25, 2019. This is a heartbreaking loss for her family at home and her family in choir, and it’s with an extremely heavy heart that I make this post. During her life, she was a light to many of us, and in death, her legacy will continue to shine within everyone whose lives she touched. All of us in choir are eternally grateful for the time we had with Amy, even if it is much shorter than we had hoped. We send our love to her family, friends, and teachers. 

We love you always, Amy.”

Amy has been a wonderful friend to me for the past 5 years, and I am deeply saddened by her passing. My love goes out to her family, my fellow choir members, and the entire senior class of NBHS.❤️ Here is a picture of Amy and I at the 2018 choir banquet.

I remember my Mother's funeral where Amy, Bill,  Jeanie, Mary, Lynn, and your Mother my Aunt Fran all attended.  Amy and I talked a very long time. Over the years I have enjoyed all the pictures and following her on Facebook. She had a delightful personality. She was so very smart, vivacious, and had a promising future.  Even though that was a long time ago it is so hard for me to wrap my mind around her loss. It is tragic and heart-breaking. I cannot even imagine how you fell, but I can assure you that Dan and I will be praying consistently for you individually and as a family whole. If there is anything we can do, don't hesitate to call. 281 798 2400. We love you very much.

This past summer, Amy and I attended Texas State Choir Camp together with a few other choir members. There was a dance on the final day held in a building  with sorority advertisements. Her and I were some of the few not dancing so we ended up coming across this picture frame that said, "Sister of the month," and we couldn't stop laughing at it. She then proceeded to sneak it back to the dorms under her shirt, this was HILARIOUS. The best part is, when we made it back to my dorm, it fell out of her shirt, and shattered on the ground. The entire journey for not. I'll always remember that as one of my most rebel-teen moments. I was supposed to be Amy's roommate on the Europe trip. I'll be sure to take lots of photos for her, where ever she may be now.

Amy is survived by her parents, Bill and Jeanie Stein; brothers, Grant Stein (Kendall), and Chris Stein; grandparents, William and Catherine Stein; niece and nephew Kylie and Logan Stein; rescue dogs: Rocky, Daisy, and Sugar; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Frances and Joseph Richstatter; grandmother, Darline Stein, great-grandparents, Amanda and Benno Stein and her dog, Rosie.
