I learned with great sadness of the passing of someone who mattered early in my life, early 1990, and who remained part of it until the end, as a loyal friend. Over the years, we stayed in touch, sharing exchanges shaped by curiosity, debate, laughter, and a genuine affection.
With a sharp and passionate mind, he loved to argue, to understand, to challenge ideas—always with intelligence and a strong sense of humor. A polyglot and an athlete, he had a vibrant energy that made people want to follow, whether onto a court or into a conversation.
Deeply attached to his roots, he built a life that was rich and open to the world. The love he shared with his family and the pride he felt for his son were an essential part of his life.
I carry with me the memory of a brilliant, wholehearted, and warm person. May he rest in peace, and may his memory live on in all those who had the good fortune to know him. My condolences to his wife Heidi, his son Daniel and his parents, sisters, brother and close ones.

Andrew and I met on our first day of Military College in St. Jean during our military oath ceremony. Sitting near one another, we recognized each other as Italian, shared a few laughs, and became instant friends.  We endured the usual military training challenges, engineering studies and brutal exams, and often “decompressed” together on the soccer field and tennis court. 

After graduation, our careers took us on diverse paths.  Sometimes, after months of no news, Andrew would re-connected in his friendly and genuine manner.  We talked about  our respective experiences in Africa, the Pacific Northwest and South Texas. Regrettably, we were never in the same place at the same time, but it sometimes seemed like we were.

I will always remember Andrew for is energetic spirit, his steadfast principles, and his readiness to share a good laugh.

It it with great sadness that I learned about Andy's passing. I will always remember his sense of humour which he used to lower our stress levels during summer training as military engineers. He was awesome to have as a friend and colleague in those early years. I wish we could of stayed in touch more often. I would like to express my deepest sympathies to his family.

Andrew and I were best of friends at Richelieu Valley Regional High School when he was a teenager living in St. Bruno, Qc. He was the catalyst for us to apply to RMC. We both were accepted and spent 5 more years together playing soccer and studying engineering. Andy brought a lot of Italian soccer flair to the pitch and to much of everything else we did together. I was completely shocked and heartbroken to hear of his passing. We were close friends through high school and university, and some of my most meaningful memories are from those years and our time playing soccer together. Even though life eventually took us in different directions, we stayed connected and followed each other’s lives. Knowing he’s gone feels unreal. He will always hold a special place in my heart, and I will miss him deeply. My deepest condolences to his family. With love and remembrance.

Andy was one of the most loyal people I got to know. He was a sincere friend and a supportive teammate through the very tough years at the military academy. Gifted in school and sports and always fun to be with.  It just dawned on me from seeing his age that Andy would have been one of the youngest cadets to make the selection process,  which speaks to his talent and determination.

I have such fond memories of Andy—from our days at military college, time spent on the soccer field, sharing our Italian roots, and even crossing paths again in Seattle. He was gifted in so many ways and truly a friend to all, always quick with a smile and a joke to break the tension. You couldn’t help but want to be around him.

It’s heartbreaking to hear of his passing. You will be deeply missed, old friend. My heartfelt condolences to his family and all who loved him.

Andrew and I were always sitting together in the last row in our first year as recruits at Royal Military college of Canada where we were studying engineering making fun of the profs being clueless while we exchanged notes and laughs. Fortunately there was no internet in 1983 or we would never have gotten any work done. Some days I wonder how we grew up to become responsible adults on our very different paths in life after military service. I guess I am coming here to say they may have tried to take the boy out of the man when we joined the military but I am sure those of you who got close to him in adult life would have always seems the humour from our late teenage years shine thru during corporate or biz pressure cooker scenarios.

RIP my friend from the back row in Calculus 101 ....ironically I still have that calculus book in my house and with it my memories of you
