

Arno Weidner of New Braunfels passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at his residence at the age of 96. He was born March 21, 1914 to Fritz and Ella Weidner in Sattler Texas. Mr. Weidner owned and operated Weidners Turkey Farm on Highway 46. He was a member of Frohsein Singing Club, Sophienburg Museum, New Braunfels Conservation Society, Eagles Club, Dance Club, Sangerhalle Club and the 42 Club, Producer’s Co-op. He served as Secretary for Farm Bureau, taught Sunday School at First Protestant Church and was on the Church Council at First Protestant Church and Friedens Church. Preceding him in death was his first wife of over 50 years Leonie Weidner and his second wife of 10 years Lucille Oberkampf.
He is survived by his son Dennis Weidner and his wife Cindy; grandchildren Tiffany and Preston Davis and Krystle Weidner; great-grandsons Tate and Braedon Davis; brother, Howard Weidner; step-children Dr. William Oberkampf, Jennifer Downing, Margo Green, Mary Lou Jung, and Cathy Oberkampf and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. on Thursday with the family present to receive visitors from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday at Zoeller Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Friedens Church with burial to follow in Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park.
