Barbara Ann Neyland (Bates), age 72, of New Braunfels, Texas passed away Thursday, August 9, 2018. Born January 23, 1946 in San Antonio, Texas, she was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School in 1963 where she was a member of the Lasso team. She received her Bachelor degree from Southwest Texas State University and was an active member of Daughters of the American Revolution.
Barbara lived most of her life in the San Antonio area working for the United States Air Force Civil Service for 35 years until her retirement. She had a passion for genealogy, antiques, real estate and home remodeling. She also enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Lillian Bates. Survivors include her husband of 22 years, Donald Neyland, her son, Scott Mills, his wife, Jody and their children Greyson and Carson, her daughter, Linda Crane and her children Jillian, Bryce and Christian, her husband’s children, Dustan Neyland, Derika Bailey, her husband, Robert Jr. and their children Kathleen, Olivia and Robert III.
The family will receive friends from 5:00–7:00 PM on Thursday, August 16th at Zoeller Funeral home 615 Landa New Braunfels, Texas 78130. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 Friday, August 17th at First Protestant Church 172 W. Coll Street New Braunfels, Texas 78130 with Reverend Richard Van Natter officiating. Burial will follow at Cranes Mill Cemetery in Startzville, Texas.
