October 22, 1970 – August 22, 2024
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Celinda "CeCe” Trotter, who left us on August 22, 2024, in New Braunfels, Texas.
Celinda is forever remembered and loved by her husband, Steven, their sons and wives, James & Sara and David & Ashley.
She is also survived by her beloved parents Benilda and Butch Laskoskie, along with her sister and husband, Brenda Holzmann & Greg Abel, nieces and nephew Manon, Emilie and Gauvain Hauquier. Her brother Corey Laskoskie and her sister Kim & husband Ian Ledbetter.
Born in Austin, Texas, Celinda grew up with a passion for learning, cooking, adventure, family and laughter.
She graduated from Wimberley High School in 1989, where she was awarded a scholarship by the Wimberley Lions Club, allowing her to participate in an international student exchange program in Belgium. This was the beginning of a lifetime passion for adventure, travel and meeting people. A passion she and her husband shared together. Celinda impacted the lives of many people across the world including Belgium, Mexico, France, Australia, England and Spain.
Education was important to Celinda, she pursued higher education at Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas, earning Bachelor of Arts degrees in both Speech Communication and Theatre Arts. In 2012 she furthered her education completing a Master’s in Education (Summa Cum Laude) from Concordia University while working full time as a mom and teacher.
In her career, she excelled in every role. As a teacher, she influenced numerous students, bringing a passion to the classroom along with the assistance of Darby the bearded dragon. Many times, ex-students would rush up as she would be shopping giving a big smile and hug to Mrs. Trotter. Celinda is remembered by everyone she met… no one has ever forgotten meeting Celinda.
As an insurance agent, she made friends not clients. She wanted to ensure people were taken care of personally. She loved making long lasting relationships. From manicures to vehicles and bread to lashes with everything in-between she was invested in the success of her friends.
Her greatest joy was her family & friends. You never heard anything that didn’t mention “Steve and the boys”. Since she was a little girl all she wanted was a family and children.
She was a devoted wife and mother, immensely proud of each one of her sons' accomplishments. More recently, ecstatic with the extension of their Trotter Dynasty. She loved her new daughters so very much.
Celinda was the heart of every family gathering, known for her infectious smile, hearty laugh, and warm bear hugs. She welcomed everyone into her home, offering support to those in need and hosting numerous gatherings. She had a passion for cooking and making things pretty. If you went to Auntie Cece’s you ate well, laughed hard and may have ended up being painted blue or wearing an aluminum foil helmet.
Celinda will be remembered for her boundless love, generosity, and the light she brought into every room she entered. She will be missed beyond words by all those she touched.
May her soul rest in eternal peace.
