Cruz Sosa Jr, a loving husband, father and grandfather went to be with the Lord on Monday October 21, 2024. He passed peacefully at his home after a long courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his loved ones. Born on April 28, 1955, Cruz was known for his deep faith, musical talent, and unwavering love for his family.
Cruz was a devoted husband to the love of his life Rachel Sosa for 50 years and a loving father to his Sons, Cruz Sosa III (Blanca), Gerry Sosa (Yolanda), and Jonathan Sosa (Ally). Daughter Naomi Sosa-Natal (Jeffrey), Cruz's legacy continues through his grandchildren, Logan, Jaren, Victoria, Eliza, Keegan, Cruz IV, Geremiah, Gianah, Luke, Nathaniel, Penelope, Jackson, and Mia Grace, who will remember him for his kindness, compassion, his laughter during thrilling family game nights and the all joyful moments they shared.
Cruz dedicated his life to serving God and playing the guitar on the worship team. His commitment to his faith was evident in every aspect of his life and served as an inspiration to those around him. He instilled his love of music to his children. When they were young he taught them to play an instrument and together they served the Lord. Now his grandchildren inherited that passion for music as well as his faith.
Cruz retired after 40 years as a Loader Operator at Gifford Hill later known as Hanson, where his hard work and dedication were recognized with numerous awards. His commitment to his work and the high standards he set in his role left a lasting impact. He completed many hours of continuing education to ensure the safety of those in the workplace. Cruz will be remembered for his work ethic.
Cruz was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed riding his motorcycle, hunting, fishing, camping, going on trips with his grandchildren in his RV and restoring his classic 57 Chevy. He was a passionate sports fan. He never missed a Dallas Cowboys or Texas Longhorn Football Game. Sharing many of these moments with family and friends at his home.
Preceded in death by his granddaughter Jericah Sosa, parents Alejandra and Cruz Sosa Sr., and siblings Ninfa Sosa, Ninfa Martinez and Roy Sosa.
He is also survived by his siblings Andrew (Donna), Tony (Minga), Adam (Diana), David (Gracia), Flavio (Michael), and Eva (Albino).
The family would like to thank Pastor Jaime Guerrero with Everlasting Rock, Cassandra with Hope Hospice for providing the Best care for Mr. Sosa and becoming like family. During this time your gentleness and understanding helped navigate through a difficult time. Sonia and Mike with Hope Hospice for all your visits, encouragement and prayers. And for also making each visit extra special with bringing Mr. Sosa a milkshake.
A public viewing and visitation for Cruz will be held Tuesday, October 29, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a special service at 7PM, at Zoeller Funeral Home, 615 Landa St, New Braunfels, Texas 78130. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at 11:00 AM.
Cruz will be laid to rest in Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park, 2951 TX Hwy 46, New Braunfels, Texas 78130.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Sosa, Jaren Sosa, Keegan Aleman, Cruz Sosa IV, Geremiah Sosa, Adam Sosa Jr, Martin Martinez and Alfred Hernandez Jr.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Luke Aleman, Nathaniel Sosa, Penelope Mejia, Jackson Sosa and Mia Grace Natal.
Cruz Sosa Jr.'s life was a testament to his faith and family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
