Donald Earl Rogers passed away in his home on April 30, 2017 at the age of 80. He was born to Earl Houston Rogers and Maurine Flatt Rogers on December 4, 1936 in Port Arthur, Texas. As a child, Don was a cub scout and had a paper route. He graduated from Schreiner Institute in Kerrville in 1956. He then attended Lamar State College of Technology in Beaumont, Texas, in the Department of Machine Shop, graduating in 1961. He worked as a precision machinist for 40 years. On June 4, 1965 Don married his wife Arlene Rogers and were married for 52 years. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Arlene Rogers, his sister Kay Johnson and husband Homer, brother-in-law Willard Gass, sister-in-law Ruth Wadsworth, and numerous nephews and nieces. Public Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, May 5, 2017 at Zoeller Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 p.m., with a burial to follow at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park.
