

Dorothy was born in Seguin, Texas to Fritz Fred Abrameit and Mary L. Volmar on October 29,1934. She went to school in Seguin. She married the love of her life Reuben Ray Johnson on December 31,1953. She worked as a spinner at Mission Valley Mills where she met Reuben. She helped Reuben work on houses they built and sold. She also worked in the cotton fields at a young age.
Dorothy was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1951. She was an active member at the Morningside Congregation in New Braunfels. She enjoyed reading and studying the Bible. She devoted much of her time to teaching others about the Bible right up until the time of her death. Dorothy enjoyed gardening, camping, canning, and playing dominoes. She enjoyed listening to music. She loved spending time with her family and showing pictures to others of her great grandchildren who held a special place in her heart.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Reuben Johnson and her parents. She is also preceded in death by her siblings Jacob Abrameit, August Abrameit, Richard Abrameit, Donald Abrameit, Josephine Wahl, and an infant baby girl. She was preceded in death by son in laws Franklin Fullenwider Sr. and Gene Burns Jr. Also, Christopher Fitzjerald her grandson in-law.
Dorothy is survived by her three daughters Brenda Fullenwider, Karen Finnegan and husband Dan, and Cynthia Burns. She is also survived by her grandchildren Sarah Henry, Franklin Fullenwider Jr (Felecia), Teresa Fitzjerald, Trevor Hedley, Garrett Hedley, Ian Finnegan(Kim), Brittany Burns, and Brooke Burns. Also, 9 great grandchildren Cilicia Fullenwider, Brandon Fullenwider, Mason Fullenwider, Zachary Fullenwider, Lexie Slocum, and Gavin Slocum, Avery Fitzjerald, Londyn Fitzjerald, and Levi Fitzjerald. Dorothy is survived by her siblings Mary Barry, Betty Luedecke(James), Roy Abrameit(Irene), and Fritz Abrameit(Delores). Also, numerous nieces and nephews. She had many friends in the faith who would often call her mama or grandma. As well as Walter Ponfick who she viewed as a son.
Private Family viewing and interment will be held. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 3:00pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses 1765 Old Marion Rd. New Braunfels, TX 78130.
