

EDWARD MILES SCHOLL, born July 7, 1929 in New Braunfels, TX died peacefully on Monday, September 29, 2014 in San Antonio, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, Erwin Fritz Scholl and Mary Esther Strieber, his wife of 53 years Billie Jean Armer Scholl, and son Patrick Miles Scholl. He met Billie Jean in El Dorado, AR and they were married on December 29, 1956. Edward's career as a Petroleum Engineer took them from Snyder, TX to Denver, CO then back to Texas for stints in Midland and Houston. He was with Lion Oil which became Monsanto Oil and eventually BHP Petroleum. Edward and Billie Jean retired in New Braunfels in 2005 and enjoyed being a part of the community and were very active at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Ed loved hanging out with all his kids and grandkids. He taught most of them to drive and shared his humor, faith and love with them all.He is survived by his son Michael Scholl and wife Judy of Spring Branch; daughter Janet Arnold and husband Steve of San Antonio; daughter Nancy Butler of Midland; daughter Sherri Rotan and husband Jonny of Midland; daughter-in-law Christine Scholl of Owasso, OK; his seven grandchildren, John Michael, Sarah and Christopher Butler; Leslie and William Arnold, and Morgan and Harrison Rotan; and many loving family members and friends. Visitation will begin at 5 pm Friday, October 3, 2014 at Zoeller Funeral Home. A Vigil service will be celebrated Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 2 pm at Zoeller Funeral Home Chapel with entombment to follow in Saints Peter and Paul Mausoleum. His grandsons and sons-in-law will serve as pallbearers. Those wishing to make memorial contributions may make them to the charity of one's choice.
