Elaine B. Dornbusch

Elaine Bertha Zipp Dornbusch, 82, of New Braunfels and Marion, Tx, passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2016. She was born on August 21,1933 in Seguin, Tx to Edwin and Helen (Stautzenberger) Zipp. She married Melton Gerhardt Dornbusch on May 29, 1955. They celebrated 60 years together and raised four children. She enjoyed needlepoint, painting, and watching college and pro football, but her first priority was always her family. She volunteered as helper and chaperone on many school activities with her children and was always involved in the PTA groups. The highlight of every year was the family trip to Terlingua and the Big Bend area.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, her step father, Hilbert Niemann, and her brother, Alwin Zipp. She is survived by her loving husband, Melton, and their four children, Penny Compton, Keven Dornbusch, Edwin Dornbusch, and Nancy Guenther; seven grandchildren, Courtney (Lane) Fielder, Chris (Nora) Compton, Karl Roach-Compton, Kyle Roach-Compton, Amber (Robbie) Kirkland, Brittney (Charles) Smock, and Trevor Dornbusch; and six great-grandchildren, Emily and Desmond Fielder, Aaron and Claire Compton, and Ashton and Logan Kirkland. Also two sisters-in-law, Thelma Zwicke and Rosa Lee Smith, and many nieces and nephews.

A Visitation will be at Zoeller Funeral Home on Friday, March 18, 2016 from 5:00-9:00pm. Family will be present from 5:00-7:00pm. The Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 1:00pm at Zoeller Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park.
